OUR TOILETS OUR PRIDE(OTOP) FOR BALAKA DHO

On June 6, 2022, the Patients Support Support Association Malawi, with support from the friends of Malawi Association FOMA, handed over 2 pit latrines to the BalakaDistrict Hospital guardian shelter.

This gesture was aimed at relieving the department which has been operating without toilets for months.

In a joint speech on the handover ceremony, the District commissioner and the Hospital administrator commended the youth lead Association for the gesture and urged youths  in the country to engage into various developmental activities citing government alone can’t afford to do everything.

They furher urged well wishers to partner with the hospital addressing challenges the hospital is facing.

In his speech, the PSA executive director Mr Christopher Banda subjected the successful completion of the project to the positive will and support by the District council and the Hospital Authorities

The OTOP project was commissioned on 4th may 2022 and Mk1.5 Million has been used to complete the project.
