OUR PROJECTS

Safe Water for empowering Communities Project

With funding from Friends of Malawi Association (FOMA), PSA has managed to rehabilitate 8 boreholes in TA Chigaru, Blantyre rural. The project was designed at the time when Malawi was experiencing one of its worst Cholera outbreaks in recent history. The project aimed to benefit approximately 1250 households with access to clean, safe water. This project was completed at the beginning of July, 2023 and was handed-over to the communities

PSA, together with the community stakeholders, believe that the communities assisted will have improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), thus meeting goal number 6 (Clean water & sanitation) of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). Speaking during the exit meeting, the Chief Chigaru of the Traditional Authority, expressed gratitude towards PSA and the funding from FOMA, “I am full of happiness as you came and assisted us accordingly. We had a lot of malfunctioning boreholes which you supported thus easing the safe water problems that we had.
